Some of the most beautiful descriptions from NDErs are of God’s TOTAL and ALL-ENCOMPASSING LOVE for us – even capitalizing all the letters to emphasize its importance is grossly inadequate. Though most are at a complete loss for words when it comes to capturing the overwhelming and infinite magnitude of God’s love for us, they do their best to try to explain it, clearly admitting that human language doesn’t do it justice in the tiniest bit. God’s love is that powerful and profound.
Here’s what NDErs say in attempting to describe it:
“The most amazing part was a pure feeling of the most intense love I can barely describe. It was just wave after wave of pure love. It was within me, it was around me, it was EVERYTHING. It felt like heartbeats of love, one wave of love after another. Yet there was love in the interim as well, then the wave would come with even more and more. It was endless, eternal and complete. I had no fear whatsoever, I had no feeling other than LOVE. I had no thought other than reaching the LIGHT. I felt pure happiness and joy. It was the most beautiful feeling that words could never even come close to describing. The closest thing I can think of to relate it to on this earth would be the moment I brought my child into this world. That moment of pure unconditional love that I’m sure most mothers and some fathers have felt. Still that is only but a very small fraction of what I am trying to explain. I have no accomplishments. I’ve never done anything remarkably special. I’m just a regular guy, a normal human. What have I done to deserve this? Hopefully these multiple and moving descriptions give you some small sense of the sheer magnitude of the overwhelming LOVE God has for each and every one of us. Perhaps the best analogy for the power and intensity of God’s love would be this: Imagine yourself standing right next to the sun and absorbing its direct heat and powerful rays 100% full on at point blank range. That illuminates what the power of God’s radiating, intense love is like for each of us.
